Drums
Drum tracking (recording) was done in one incredibly efficient 12-hour session at Studio X in Seattle. Our drummer was John Stout who is amazingly a talented and creative. After just one preproduction meeting with Geoff and Dave to discuss the direction and feel of the songs, John came up with amazing rhythmic ideas off and had the whole album charted out when he showed up at the studio. Needless to say, his attention to detail made for smooth sailing through the daunting task of recording 13 songs’ worth of drums and percussion in one day.

Think there's enough mics?

The studio at Studio X is an amazingly tuned acoustic environment making it one of the premiere recording spaces in the american Northwest.

Recording a small african drum called a doumbek. This one's aluminum with a plastic head so it has a rather high-pitched tone.

Dave and Geoff are all smiles as the long day draws to a close. Hey, why are both of Geoff's hands clenched?
